India Joins Nations Where Homosexuality is Legal

Sep 07, 2018

India is now among the countries where gay sex has been decriminalized. Indian Supreme Court has now made it legal with also a verdict against section 377 that earlier criminalized consensual unnatural sex.  However many countries in the world still continue to criminalize same-sex relationships.

It is to be noted that there are still eight countries where homosexuality can land you in prison or death punishment.

The countries where Homosexuality has been legalized as per Pew Research Center are: Netherlands in 2000, Portugal, Argentina and Iceland in 2010, Greenland, Finland, US and Ireland in 2015, South Africa in 2006, Australia, Malta and Germany in 2017, Spain and Canada in 2005, Belgium in 2003, New Zealand, France, England, Uruguay, and Brazil in 2013, Norway in 2008, Denmark in 2012, Luxembourg and Scotland in 2014, Colombia in 2016 and Sweden in 2009.

Nations are looking forward to legalize homosexuality that marks the beginning of equal rights for the LGBTQ community and legal recognition to same-sex marriages. India has taken a historic decision supporting it, and we pray more countries join the same soon.
