Will you Ever Buy Toilet Seat Covers with Images of Hindu Gods?

May 17, 2019

People of India can’t understand what it will take for companies like Amazon to realize that hurting religious sentiments is not right. Recently, the e-commerce website faced backlash on social media for selling toilet seat covers and other items with images of Hindu Gods. It made #BoycottAmazon trending topic on Twitter.  A big question is how come such a big website doesn’t know what they are selling?

Thousands of Twitter users asked to boycott the website with some tagging Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and urging her to take action against the world's biggest online retailer.

Check out their reactions:

This is not the first time that the website has done such a thing, they have done it earlier as well.

In 2017 Amazon was seen selling the national flag of India online. After that in the same year, Amazon India started selling skateboards with an image of Lord Ganesha on it.

In 2018 Amazon was thrashed by the Sikh Coalition after when they were selling doormats, rugs and toilet seat covers with the image of Golden Temple.

And now again, this has happened on the website.
