Dholavira, India attains UNESCO World Heritage site status!

Indians rejoiced as the Dholavira, the Harappan City in the Rann of Kutch has made it to the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites and this recognition has made many happy. It was known for its solid defensive mechanisms, special burial structure and water management system amongst many other things. Dholavira was discovered in 1968 and as per experts, it was witness to the development of early humankind.

The nomination was submitted back in January 2020 and this site was also on the tentative list previously. People shared congratulatory posts on Twitter as they were thrilled. Take a look at these tweets below.
