LGBTQ+ Vocabulary That You Should Know

 There is a lot more to gender identities and sexual orientation and in order to understand the depth of the LGBTQ community, you need to know their terms. Check out the list of terms used by the LGBTQ community.

• Agender

A person who is not identified with any gender

• Asexual

A person who experiences little or no sexual feelings or associations

• Drag King

Someone who performs masculinity in an exaggerated manner.

• Drag queen

Someone who performs feminity in an exaggerated manner.

• Transgender

Transgender people have a gender identity or gender expression that differs from their assigned sex.

• Cross-gender

A person who wears clothes of another gender and considers it as an important part of their identity.

• Pansexual

Someone who experiences sexual, romantic, or physical attractions for all genders.

• Bisexual

A person who experiences sexual or emotional attraction to more than one gender

• Genderqueer

An umbrella term for many gender non-conforming or non-binary identities.

• Demisexual

Someone who has little or no capacity to experience sexual attraction until a strong romantic connection is formed with someone.

• Third gender

A term used in some cultures to define a person who is not identified as a man or a woman.
