How Railways is Fighting Coronavirus

With coronavirus cases in India rising, the Railways has stepped up efforts to minimize the spread of the outbreak. Here are the steps Indian Railways has taken so far to contain the outbreak:

Separate wards with specific signage for fever cases have been set up

Dedicated control rooms and telephone helplines have been set up across the railways system

Most railway zones have hiked platform tickets from Rs 10 to Rs 50 in a bid to discourage gathering of large crowds in view of the coronavirus.

Taking care of its staff who are employed for this sanitization process, Indian Railways has provided them with protective gear and directed them to wear masks or gloves while doing their duty.

Railways have increased drive against spitting.

Railway hospitals have been provided with over 1,000 isolation beds for treating suspected coronavirus cases

It has suspended biometric attendance as well
