Satellite Images Of The Heatwave in Indian Land

Currently, the parts of North India are scorching under heatwave and the Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that no respite is likely in the coming days. The Met department has also issued a red warning for various parts of the country. A portal run by NASA showcased how bad it is through satellite images indicating the land temperature in the country.

For perspective, look at the image of India from January 21, the country looks yellowish-green which means the temperature was much lower.

Now in contrast, this is a picture from 26th May. The surface of the country looks its burning and it truly is.

Here is another from May 19, in which you can spot cyclone Amphan which was about to cause devastation in West Bengal.

There has been a sudden rise in temperature in the country.

The NASA portal says that this feature gives the temperature of 'whatever is on the surface of the Earth. For example, bare sand in the desert, ice and snow-covered area, a leaf-covered tree canopy, and even the temperature of man-made buildings and roads

And looking at the pictures, it's clear how intense the heatwave really is.

As per the predictions a thunderstorm will bring things under control but for now the situation looks out of hands.
