Things to Stock Up When Working From Home

Mar 23, 2020

With the situation becoming worse and an increasing number of cases, people are being advised to stay at home. Private sectors have instructed their employees to work remotely and not travel unnecessarily. Since many people are not used to working from home and won’t have time to go out and get things as and when needed, here is a list of essential products that you should stock up on.

Frozen food items

Not only will the frozen food items last longer, but you can just toss them in a wok with a few other ingredients and prepare your meals in a few minutes.

Dry food items

Food items like dal, rice, kidney beans, etc. have a long shelf life and can be stored easily. You can also add dry fruits and nuts to this list.

Snack items

Keep a few snacks handy in case you are busy with work and don’t have time to cook something up. Snacks will also keep you motivated and energized.

Drinks

If you are a regular tea or coffee drinker, make sure you have enough stock at home. Also, if you love to have diet sodas and juices, stock them up too.

Vegetables and fruits

Buy enough fruits and vegetables that will last you for up to 2 weeks (don’t hoard) and make sure you store them properly so they don’t go bad before time.

Soap and handwash

People have not been able to get their hands on sanitizers as many stores have run out of stock. This does not mean that soaps won’t do the job. Keep enough soaps and handwash liquids at home to ensure you are taking necessary precautions to keep your hands clean.

Medications

Keep your medicines stocked up if you have been prescribed to have any daily so that you don’t have to make unnecessary trips to the medical store.

Apart from all the commodities and pantry essentials, make sure you have every tool and software ready so that your WFH can go smoothly. Ensure that your WiFi is working properly so that you stay connected. Also, don’t hoard the stores and buy more stuff than you actually need.
