When Sky Turned Blood Red in Indonesia

We quite often hear about the problems that are occurring due to pollution and global warming. Though things really need to improve for everyone’s betterment but instead they are getting worse day by day. Already the fire in the Amazon rainforest shocked everyone and, now the sky turned into blood-red color in Indonesia. Recently a resident of Jambi province, Sumatra shared a picture of the red sky and told that the haze “hurt her eyes and throat”.
Immediately this situation triggered panic among the Netizens and everyone started sharing the pictures of the red sky.

No. This is a door from a certain village in Jambi, Indonesia.

As per the sources the phenomenon occurred due to the interaction of sunlight on particles from smoke in the air. Besides this it has happened because of the unusual winds that cause warm surface water from the equator to move east towards Central and South America.

Many people also thought that the pictures were fake but an associate professor Koh Tieh Yong of the Singapore University of Social Sciences cleared that it is fiery hue called Rayleigh scattering. He explained that smoke is made up of microscopic particles that “scatter,” or “change the color of the light we see,” which is intensified in midday when the sun is directly overhead. “If the sun is overhead, and you look up in the line of the sun so it would appear that more of the sky is red,” he said.
