Many of us are never satisfied and keep cribbing for things we don’t have and never thank god for what he has given to us. However, after reading this 65 years old woman’s story you will surely realize how some people struggle for survival.
Karuppayi an old woman from the Ramnad area of Madurai is living in a public toilet for the past 19 years.

Her pictures and the way she manages to stay in a toilet were posted by a news agency and within no time they went viral. The sad pictures were posted with the caption, "Madurai: 65-year-old Karuppayi has been living in a public toilet in Ramnad for the past 19 years, & earning her livelihood by cleaning the toilets and charging a meager amount from the public for using it. #TamilNadu."The old lady revealed that she has one daughter who never visits her and she earns her living by cleaning public toilets and taking money from the ones who use it.
She doesn’t even have the basic necessities to survive.
Karuppayi: I applied for senior citizen pension but didn't get it. I approached many officers in Collector's office but nothing materialised. I don't have any other source of income. A lot of comments showered on the internet for the brave lady. People started requesting the government to help her out while some praised her for doing her work properly and keeping the toilets clean.
